This website is for sharing ways that missionaries can use technology more effectively. Obviously one person can’t test every piece of software or new gadget that hits the market. If you would like to share your experience with a particular piece of technology, then let me invite you to do so.
There are a few particular areas I am interested in sharing on Missionary Geek. However, if you have something you want to share with the readers that isn’t on the following list, I am still interested in hearing your suggestion.
They work by stopping the formation of blood vessels that bring oxygen and nutrients to tumors. Maybe you have a philosophical position on why a missionary should or should not use certain technologies (for example my disdain for free website offerings). These topics will be considered as well.
Please provide original content. You are welcome to rework another blog post or article that you own to make it fresh for Missionary Geek, but it must be unique.
I think a good general length is somewhere between 400 and 700 words. However, if you need more space to give a full explanation, then you are welcome to go over 700 words. The 400 to 700 is a general guideline.
I reserve the right to accept or reject any piece submitted. I won’t hold your writing hostage. I will let you know if I am not going to use it so that you can post it somewhere else.
While I may make some editorial changes (spelling, grammar and stylistic changes) I will not make any substantive changes without letting you approve the changes.
What’s in it for you?
I will provide up to 2 links to your own presence on the web. Within the content of the post you are welcome to include any appropriate links to your own or outside content. This needs to be contextual and reasonable. I don’t want to set a limit on the number of links as long as they are valuable. A 400 word post probably shouldn’t have 10 links in it.
The best way to submit content is to send me an email with the article already written and all links included. It would also be a help if you would write your own bio for the beginning and end of the article. At least provide me enough information about yourself and your ministry that I can easily write a bio for you.
If you want to pitch an article idea before going through the effort of writing the article you are welcome to do that too. Send an email and I will let you know if I am interested.
You don’t actually have to be a missionary to submit an article. However, the focus of the article should be how this technology can be used by missionaries to help them accomplish their work on the field or in communication with their supporters back home.
